What is swivel bending?
In swivel bending, the work sheet is clamped between two clamping beams, the so-called upper and lower beam. A mounted bending beam, which is vertically downwards in the rest position, swivels upwards and carries out the bending process.
This results in the essential advantages of swivel bending:

1. PRECISION

During the entire forming process, the workpiece is fixed between the upper and lower beam. The sheet cannot slip and the dimensional accuracy of the parts is significantly increased.

2. PROTECTION OF THE SURFACES

In swivel bending, the bending beam presses the workpiece around a defined axis of rotation so that there is no shear movement between the workpiece and the machine elements.

3. REDUCED TOOL COSTS

With swivel bending, the most common profiles can be produced with standard tools – no expensive tools and no long changeover times!

4. EASY HANDLING

In sheet metal working, the situation often arises that only relatively narrow legs have to be bent on large-area workpieces or entire sheet metal panels. With swivel bending, only the part that extends beyond the upper and lower beam at the front is moved. In combination with back gauge systems, the majority of the workpiece rests on the support surfaces and does not have to be moved manually.
