THE FOUNDATION.
1910
Josef Schechtl sets up his own business and opens a blacksmith workshop in Roßhart near Edling.
MODEL KS1
1932
Josef Schechtl designs and builds the first Schechtl bending machine, model KS1. It consists of 2 railway rails and a welded-on flat steel and works so well that word quickly spreads to other trades. The first plate shear, model SJS, soon follows and the beginning of a successful mechanical engineering company is made.
MOVEMENT
1955
Josef Schechtl Jr, the eldest of nine children, takes over his parents business and moves the factory to its current location in Edling. The Edling headquarters offers room for expansion and for the continuation of the Schechtl company’s success story.
STATE PRICE
1960
Schechtl receives the Bavarian State Prize for the Model KS folding machine at the International Trade Fair in Munich.
MOTOR
1969
Schechtl starts building the first motor-driven squaring shears and folding machines.
ALOIS SCHECHTL
1980
Alois Schechtl takes over the management, expands the product range with motor-driven swivel bending machines and shears and leads the company to today’s global standing.
CNC-CONTROL
1986
Construction of the first CNC control for swivel bending machines.
STATE PRICE
1988
Schechtl receives the Bavarian State Prize for the segment folding machine on the occasion of the International Trade Fair in Munich.
CNC-CONTROL
1996
The graphical Schechtl CNC control for swivel bending machines is patented and revolutionises the swivel bending sector.
RECORD
1999
Schechtl exceeds the limit of 2,000 machines sold annually and is the first manufacturer to receive the “Golden Soldering Lamp” – the highest award in the tinsmith sector.

Maria Schechtl takes over the management.
100 YEARS
2010
Schechtl celebrates its 100th anniversary.
S-TOUCH
2010
In the anniversary year, the CNC touch control is introduced.
This sets standards in terms of user-friendliness! Intuitive and
flexible – for the implementation of complex functions. An almost playful
programming through direct input on the monitor.
INNOVATION AWARD
2012
Schechtl wins the innovation award of the magazine “Baumetall” in the category machines and tools. “S-Touch Mobile”.
UKF
2015
Presentation of the first segment swivel bending machine UKF
which, thanks to its extra-high segments, offers particular
bending due to extra high segments.
SB50
2017
Construction of the world’s first
SB50 shingle bending machine.
F-GEOMETRY
2018
Construction of the bending beam design F-Geometry, which offers maximum bending free space on motorized swivel bending machines.
EXPANSION
2021
A new production hall with offices is being built in Wasserburg.
CONICAL BENDING
2023
Schechtl presents the new conical bending feature for motorized bending machines.
